Fábrica Braço de Prata

And what promised to be a complete fiasco proved to be a fantastic night with lots of music, art, port and shopping. Disappointed after discovering that Jorge Palma's acoustic concert was sold out, me and some friends decided to go out on Friday night to take our minds off the subject. What we weren't expecting was to have such a great time with our plan B.

A street inside a building

Shopping hats for Peter Pan (or Robin Wood)

Escaping the canvas...

Goose barnacles (or "understands" as they say in Algarve)

Meet the famous percebes,
the most disgusting food on the face of the earth (according to Beatriz).

I know, I know... her description sounds much MUCH grosser :)

Biology nerds dancing

Today, in Structural Biology class I watched the funniest educational video ever made. It's a video about protein synthesis made in the 70s with people dancing :)

The hole in the roundabout revisited

The hole in the roundabout is a large weird hole used as a roundabout in Coimbra with stairs and a path leading to it. Inside the hole there's a bridge that crosses some kind of mysterious water (which I suspect is treated wastewater) that runs towards the river.

One day, a small group of not very sane people decided that slashing their wrists and throwing themselves at the hole in the roundabout would be a good alternative to studying for their exams. And this was how this place became such a mythical place for suicide attempts in times of despair!

p.s. - just to be clear, no one really ever tried to kill themselves in this roundabout... people just fantasize about it :p

Dinner at the hole in the roundabout

Dinner at Toscana
