Rapa Nui - Tapati Festival

When the island goes wild... and suddenly the amount of people per square meter inexplicably quadruplicates. If you ever go to the Easter Island, you might want to consider doing it during the Tapati Festival. This huge event celebrates the Rapa Nui culture with tradicional singing, dancing, competitions and even a big parade where both locals and tourists can dress (or should I say undress?) in traditional attire and ancestral body painting. Also, islanders make sure that there's never a shortage of empanadas or pisco sour at any of the festival events. Oh! Did I mention the festival lasts for 2 weeks?
