Back in Toronto

Modern, old, urban, bustling with life, multicultural, chic, rural, full of secluded hidden spots, densely populated and diverse. Toronto has a bit of everything. And while you're mindlessly wandering around the city, casually bumping into a local who claims to be Portuguese (and does speak it) might be more common than you think - and you don't even need to be in Little Portugal; although the chances of that person ever having been in Portugal are a bit sparser...

Niagara Falls

And on my way home I was lucky enough to fly over the falls:

The Apotheosis of Washington

Americans and their delusions of grandeur. Painted in 1865, suspended 180 feet above the United States Capitol rotunda floor, this fresco depicts George Washington sitting amongst the heavens, surrounded by figures from classical mythology. You'd almost expect to see Washington, stretching his arm down, trying to reach God's index finger... Jeez!

I have to admit it looks pretty, though.

The National Statuary Hall, another stunning room.
