Fruit Shuffleboard
We had to use mandarins as weights because all the limes were used for the gin and tonic...
here's a video made after some of the gin and tonic and before the geyser attack :)
Bay Bridge Lightning Strike
Last night's thunderstorm. Pretty amazing... and scary!
I stole this photo from Phil McGrew because by this time I was nowhere near Bay Bridge. I was safely at home, watching the storm from my living room window, trying to convince Nuno not to go out onto the balcony to try to save our plants from drowning :)
Lake Michigan
A freshwater inland "sea" with white sand beaches washed by clear blue waters.
Just as beautiful as they say.

Reflecting Surfaces
Surface 1: "The Bean" at Millennium Park.
Surface 2: Gino's East of Chicago's wall.
Besides serving to-die-for deep dish pizzas, the decor consists of walls, tables, chairs, ceiling and pretty much any other surface covered in costumers graffiti. Very cool!

Surface 3: Sears Tower's elevators (among the fastest elevators in the world).
From the 103th floor you can see 4 states: Indiana, Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin.

The Windy City
To the east were moving waters, as far as eye could follow.
To the west a sea of grass as far as wind might reach.
...
By nights when the yellow salamanders of the EL bend all one way
and the cold rain runs with the red-lit rain.
By the way the city's million wires are burdened only by lightest snow;
When chairs are stacked and glasses are turned and arc-lamps all are dimmed.
By days when the wind bangs alley gates ajar and the sun goes by on the wind.
By nights when the moon is an only child above the measured thunder of the cars,
you may know Chicago's heart at last.

And then I amaze myself when I realize some of my friends actually think I'm a computer engineer...
